Would it be okay to wear ankle boots during September in northern NJ?

When it's cool enough out. Like maybe 70 degrees? Or is it too early?

Yes, I think that's fine. People in New York have already started wearing boots.

I think it would be okay, but on the first day of school (next thursday) it's still gonna be pretty warm... But you should totally go for it !

If it's too warm, you can always wear them in the later fall/winter.
