Take for instance, someone off the streets who is tough as nails. The toughest, most unorthodox fighter on the streets. Could he beat the best MMA guy even though he doesn't have any training?

  1. Street fighters are scrap. They do drugs and think there all that. MMA fighters and the real deal so..... no it is not possible unless the street fight pulss a gun. ...LOL.

  2. No Way!!!

  3. Nope. Never in a million years.  Look at Kimbo.  He was suppose to be some god amongst fighters.  He is a nobody with zero talent and no cardio.  MMA fighters train hard everyday to be the best.

  4. LOL.....I can't believe this ticky tac c**p.  NO?.....my entire team is made up of nothing but "Street fighters" and they fair well in "Cage events".  Not one of my guys has ever been hurt in the cage not once.  Let's get a few things clear here real quick folks.  First off, a street fighter is only called a street fighter because he lives in the "inner-city" and is often forced to fight even when he doesn't feel the need to fight.  Secondly, "formal training" and the will to survive are two seperate things all together.  A street fighter whether tough as nails or not has "survival" on the brain.... he just wants to get from point A to point B without any confrontation at all.  If these two are in a cage match then who knows, but on the streets where's it's "play for keeps" it is a altogether different story.  A street fighter is actually more than likely to cut you to rivets in order to get the h**l out of any dangerous situation.  A street fighter is looking around for make shift weapons to put you away quick even if that means killing you and that's no lie.  People like Sammy Franco, self taught founder of "Contemporary Fighting Arts" ( A Pure Street System BTW ) aren't out to teach street fighters to just defend them selves, but to eliminate the threat entirely and with a quickness. ( http://www.sammyfranco.com/ ) It ain't no play time in the cage when you're on the streets folks!!

As far as MMA being totally sport.... this kind of pisses me off dude.  My own team has been at MMA for years as far as its street value goes and just recently went sport to find the rules to be goofy as h**l.  My team has won a few and lost a few....this proves nothing under stupid rules and refs that have no clue though and actually your comparing two street fighters with your question in my point of view..... not all MMA teams would agree with my views though.

Edit: man are you people dumb.....geeze.

  5. You basically just described Kimbo Slice.

Against someone along the lines of Fedor, A. Silva, GSP, or Penn.

    Not even close.

  6. absolutely possible. mma fighters are too used to the rules. i dont care about their rules...neither would a streetfighter. on the street there is no such thing as a fair fight. arguably there is no better streetfight training than streetfighting..so he does have training.

i've seen too many mma bouts get stopped because of accidental eye pokes and groin shots to not believe what i say above.

not saying a mma fighter couldnt beat a streetfighter either, it could go both ways.

but understand mma is a far cry from streetfighting or self defense. the mere fact that they know they are going to be fighting helps alot. they know their opponent, they study their tactics. and rely on the rules, and..most importantly expect their opponent to obey them too.

i would say it would depend on the arena...on the street with no rules...a streetfighter might have the edge needed to beat the technically superior fighter.

in the octagon the streetfighter would get killed.

i know a tai chi instructor who beat the h**l out of a bjj black belt at his own game because bjj people dont have to worry about groin attacks or eye pokes or anything else....he was furious that a tai chi instructor beat him on the ground...3 times no less.

i also know a guy who teaches a stree defense art called kempo jujutsu, and also teaches mma and has a very successful team. he agrees. and when his mma students attend kempo class and try for example the juji gatame armbar...he just bites their leg and they let go and get whooped. so yes. mma is not the be all end all of fighting..far from it. but you cant tell them that lol

likewise...you put a bjj blackbelt in a boxing match against a boxer...he is going to lose. but you put that boxer against the bjj guy in a bjj tournament and the boxer will lose.

    much depends on the circumstances

  7. Definitely, assuming the fight is with no rules (street fight).

When you change the rules .. it completely changes the game. I am sure the best MMA could beat the best boxer with MMA rules. If a street fighter is accustomed  to fighting very dirty ( soft tissue attacks (eye, neck, groin), using anything on the street as a weapon, etc) they would have knowledge/experience that a typical mma guy doesn't practice.

MMA guys are so used to practicing in the gym that in a real street fight if you tap out .. they might let you go for just a second out of habit

  8. not likely, but anyone who can throw a punch can get lucky

  9. no

  10. I think at striking, if a street fighter could hit the guy to the ground, before a MMA fighter could pound him on the ground, that the street fighter would probably win.

    just an oppinion

  11. The best street fighter without any training yet he is still the best, that means he is a very smart fighter and has some natural talents, he also has an abnormal physical powers and reflex and timing, that is why he is the best street fighter.

But the best MMA fighter is someone who has been training his body to the limit, eating the best possible food, resting the correct period, accumulated a lots of skills and are good at both striking and ground game, training and fighting is his live, he train 4 hours minimum per day. I don't expect the street fighter to train at all.

MMA fighter have better chances of winning on both the striking and the ground game, he has a greater chance of winning and knocking the street fighter out. But if the street fighter have a chance to fight dirty, like eye gouge, balls grab, hair pull, he also have a chance to win the fight. If the street fighter can not win the fight within the first minute after engagement then, the fitness of the MMA fighter will take over.

  12. Although I hate these questions I'll answer....sort of. There are far too many variables. Is this a fight in the street? Is it a fight under professional MMA rules? If on the street, does anything go? Weapons?

Is it a ''fair fight'', or is it a random out of the blue attack that the other fighter is not expecting?

Who decides who the toughest fighter on the streets is? Surely to do that one would have to have a tournament...something the ''street fighter'' would train for, therefore he probably would have training of sorts.

Where did the ''street fighter'' pick up his experience? Unliscenced boxing in abandoned warehouses? Mugging old ladies in the street?

If it is ''on the street'' what type of street are they fighting on?

    What are the lighting conditions?

    Is there traffic?

Street fights tend to involve friends jumping in to help, does the street fighter have his mates?

Who is bigger? Who is taller? Who has the longer reach? Who is stronger? Who is faster? Who can take a punch better? Who can handle adrenaline dump better? Who has better stamina? Why are they fighting? Is it to decide the best fighter? Is it a purely by chance robbery attempt?

These are just a couple of points to think about, hopefully this adequately illustrates the futility of these ''who would win?!'' questions.

  13. Any of these questions are tough to answer without specifying what you mean by "beat"

I think it's the clasic boxer versus wrestler scenario, who would win?

Well, it depends, a boxer would win a boxing match, a wrestler would win a wrestling match

Are you talking about a cage match or a street fight?

a street fighter would probably have the advantage on the street, the mma fighter in the cage, just because there are so many variables

that said a tough tough street fighter would probably do well against a mediocre cage fighter, and "the best mma guy" would pretty much kick the *** of any joe shmo on the street
