Would it be possible to have two wedding ceremonies?

My fiance's family lives in Oregon and mine lives in Mississippi and Georgia. Rather than having everyone have to fly out to MS or OR, could we just do two ceremonies? He thinks it would be sweet because we would have 2 anniversaries--an anniversary from me to him and one from him to me. Could I wear the same gown for both?

in this day and age almost anything is accepted.. I say go for it ...

You can do it, but remember - whichever family doesn't get to be there for the real wedding might be upset. People may well be happier to fly out to attend the wedding itself, rather than a second shot one. And even people at the real wedding might feel somewhat miffed that you're planning on doing a pretend one afterwards, they might feel you're cheapening the real one. Perhaps you could skip the second "wedding" and just have a reception.

It's a great idea. What  a sweet guy you have. In today's time anything goes. You can wear your dress, why not I bet it's beautiful.

Oh yes, absolutely!  It is completely acceptable for you to do this...and very romantic!  You are being thoughtful of both sides of the family and I think they would appreciate it.  Yes, you can wear the same gown for both weddings, no worries there.  Beauty part is that it's your wedding, so it's your call as to how you wish to be joined in marriage.

Great idea!  Be sure you have a similar type of ceremony and reception in each place so one family doesn't feel you have done more for the other family.  Wear the same gown for both.  Keep it simple.  Be happy ever after.

Yes, you can, but only the first one is legally binding. The second one will just be for show.
