i have an old metal toolbox, and i want to get an old cd player/ radio unit from a thrift store and fit it so the tool box becomes a radio, probably w/the speakers coming out of the sides, i was wondering if this could be done, and if the metal of the tool box would distort or amplify the sound coming out of the speakers

  1. sure, you could do this, it actually sounds pretty cool. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Sure it can be done.  I would probably put some type of padding like sheet foam or something like that on the inside of the toolbox to prevent rattling of the metal from the speakers.

Good luck!  I know that some better power tool manufactures already make toolbox radios.  You may want to check out your local hardware stores to get some ideas.
