Would it be possible to reverse global warming?

Could we eventually do it if we stopped emitting greenhouse gasses by 50%? Or would it take more?

I think its possible, but it wouldn't be reversed in our lifetime. I thought they were working towards more than 50% carbon emission reduction.. I'm not sure how long that would take though.

since no one cares about global warming it well not be stoped in enough time before we reach the tipping point were there is NO turning back---the only thing we can do is try to make the tipping point not come so soon..

100%  yes, but it'll be longer than your lifetime.

even it we completely stopped today, it would be decades before the current warming trend stopped.

you also need to consider the effect that the dramatically rising population stops.

Eventually.  But it would take a lot of time and money.

Well...... IF the Earth is in fact warming (we really don't know because the data used to track climate change is SERIOUSLY flawed)...... we could strap a couple of rocket engines on an asteroid and aim it at Earth.  That would create another ice age.

Good grief.....the Earth has cooled and it has warmed in cycles that have repeated themselves many times over many millions of years.

The Earth's climate is not..... nor has it ever been....static.

If folks want to banter on about some cause, then go for cleaner water....cleaner air....better health care.  In other words.....support a genuine cause..... NOT another 'ManBearPig' (from South Park) fiasco like the ice age scare of the 1970's!!

thats a tough question!  Some people dont believe in global warming at all, while others do

i say that we are probably doing something to warm the planet

(hey we are the ones who are depleting the ozone layer, search up CFC's and why they were banned a long time ago)

who knows if you can reverse it or not, or if its even happening at all.  All i would say is that, we should start to rely on wind power and alternative fuel sources anyway.

OH AND By the way, global warming money grabber people...look at how much the GAS COMPANIES are charging us for gas!!  Who is making money here now?  idiots.

Why reverse global warming ? In the last couple of million years we've had numerous instances of "global warming" preceded by numerous instances of "ice ages" and the world goes on like a Timex watch. Don't they teach you folks anything in science classes anymore?

By reducing pollution from vehicles and power plants

I'm sure it would be possible if it were really happening... the truth is that Global Warming is a farse. Its fake. Made up. It's nothing but a scare tactic to manipulate the general public, or to distract us from something else... like the war in Iraq...

It's funny how George Bush was getting a lot of heat for the war in Iraq... and all of the sudden, this global warming thing popped up and everyone ran with it. Who informed the public about global warming? Al Gore... he is an idiot. His movie... the inconvenient truth... where he makes all these claims about global warming, and gives facts and demonstrates his main points... yeah, he made it all up. There are scientific journals that point out that Gore doesn't know a thing... read this article... it's interesting what you hear from the lips of a scientist.
