We are planning our wedding for next Feb, and more than likely, I will still be on crutches. During our ceremony when exchanging vows and especially the ring portion, would it be acceptable for me to hand my crutches to an attendant and a grooms man stand behind me with his hands on my hips or just above my waist to steady me as I stand on one leg. I already decided on a white pantsuit to make walking the aisle on crutches easier.

  1. You can use a white bar stool to sit on during your vows. The officiant will understand. It would be more stable and much less awkward.

  2. As a most of the time crutch user I applaud your intention of standing, albeit on one foot rather than sitting. You display great courage despite your handicap.  I see no problem with your plan, but possibly someone else close to you such as your father or whoever escorts you up the aisle to the altar could steady you.  I wish you and your fiance all the best, and hope that you are able to walk normally.

  3. I think it would be fine.  Have one fo the guys, or maybe your dad if that seems more comofrtable, to hold you up and keep you steady.

  4. I would say do whatever is comfortable and acceptable for you and the person your marrying"the heck with what anyone else thinks"

  5. What about a small white chair that you could sit in?  Your groom could even get on one knee to give you the ring.  I don't know about having some other man's hands on you during the ceremony.

  6. I dont see a problem with it but to be safe why not have your maid of honor do it for you instead. Good luck with the ceremony and your marriage.

  7. Why don't you have your maid of honor do it? I think it is acceptable, but if you really want to avoid any problems or comments from Anyone attending, I think it would be safer to go with a brides maid

    Congrats!!
