  1. Well not really, because what would be the actual question on which people would vote? Do we want multiculturalism? Well, what do you actually mean by that? It gets very woolly. And then what do you actually do when the votes are in? What action could result?

Er, no, I don't think that is multiculturalism at all. Or is Multiculturism (sic) a term you have just made up?

  2. I think is it called democratic - let the electorate decide. Especially when their quality of life is at risk.

When in Rome etc, people choose to immigrate to the UK like my mum did. She did not ask for translation costs etc etc she just worked.

Before she lived in the UK she lived in Germany (speaks German), Holland (speaks Dutch) plus 6 other European languages. She is from Finland.

I think integration is dead, Balakanisation is happening.

Edit - why is it balir & brown are spending tax payers money on wars abroad for freedom yet do not allow freedom & democracy at home?

  3. What exactly would the question be? You have to have a very definite question if you're to have a referendum. You'd need to define multiculturalism (Can we have synagogues and Hindu temples? Is having italian restaurants multi-cultural?) and what the alternative to multiculturalism would be.

If the public did say "no" to multiculturalism, how would it be enforced? Would everyone have to go to Church on Sunday, even though we're not really a Christian nation any more? Would we all have to watch doctor Who? Would everyone have to eat bubble and squeak and other delicious British food? What would be the penalty for someone who dared to have a differing culture?

**You still haven't defined multiculturalism. Saying "no Muslims" is one thing, saying "absolutely nothing that isn't British" is quite another. What IS British? We export more curry than India - to name but one example.

  4. off course it would be reasonable that's what Democracy is all about, isnt it?

  5. Well said.  We have been well and truly gagged by our government.  Racism means that one person considers a person of a different race to be inferior.  It doesn't mean that they should have no choice in whether or not their country is bombarded by all and sundry to the detriment of the indigenous population.

  6. I don't remember being asked if we wanted mass immigration in the first place.

This government found a way to wriggle out of a referendum they actually promised* - what chance of getting a referendum on something they have massively botched?

    *The EU Constitution/Lisbon Treaty.

  7. No.  It would be the worst decision ever.

Firstly, nobody can agree on a definition of multiculturalism.

Secondly, such an issue is not black and white - there's so many shades of grey.  A majority may be grumpy about the sudden high influx of immigrants, or be resentful of the perceived high crime rate/unemployment/benefits hikes caused by them, but not necessarily want to block all immigrants, by a slight or even by a large degree.

Thirdly, the people are ignorant.  Perceptions fed by newspapers are no way to decide public policy.  It's the very reason we elect a Parliament - to study the evidence close up and decide using an array of methods to fine-tune policy.  The very fact such a method annoys people who have no clear alternative apart from black and white 'kick them all out' (without defining the 'them' except to not include themselves) shows it is necessary.

Referendums are constitutionally repugnant and I would ban them for all matters, not simply your proposed one on multiculturalism.  They are an illiberal tool.

  8. The UK isn't a democracy (where everyone would vote on every issue) - it has a representative democracy for government, where you elect people to act on your behalf in making the laws. This means you don't get to have referenda on issues. The government can call one if they want, but it isn't binding under law.

  9. they wouldn't dare!! because 90% of people would vote against it. democracy in Britain is a sham. a lie. labour are total traitors. its a good thing for them that the British are a nation of servile hand wringers. they would not get away with it if the indigenous population had any balls. this is a country whos people were told to shut up 'as their country was handed to a n**i style federation" and they did exactly as they were told. as the French say, the British would eat their own sh*t if the government ordered them too.

  10. Multi-culturalism is anti-Americanism.  or in this case,anti-UKism

    E Pluribus Unum,,,not E Pluribus Pluribus

    A nation divided cannot stand

    Nationalism is patriotism

  11. It would be reasonable. However did you see the report that Britain is the most populated country in Europe in persons per square mile? So now not only are we receiving immigrants from all the social hot spots in the world but Brussels have forced us to take any number of European nationals as well. Multiculturalism? more like invasion
