Would it be safe to leave my x360's power supply here?

Its a two part question. One, would it be safe to leave my xbox 360s power supply unit ontop of my subwoofer? Its the logitech z5500 digital system. Its a big box sorta with the sub inside, so should it be safe (fire wise, etc) the top of the box is extremely hard, not sure what it is. Secondly does anyone elses power supply make like a buzzing noise? Kinda like the noises you hear from neon lights?

To answer the first part of your question:

Yes you can set this power supply on top of something. The power supply used by Microsoft is UL tested and approved. So it should be fine as long as nothing is wrong with it.

Part 2:

Sounds like a bad Power supply... And no I wouldn't use this one at all.

But don't throw it away.

Test it by pluging it into a different outlet (preferably one on a defferent circuit) to see if the buzzing goes away. If it stop... You might want to call an electrician and have the outlet it was plug into looked at.

If the buzzing is still there... You have a bad power supply and should stop using it.
