Would it be strange to have a christmas theme at a Nov. 22 wedding?

The wedding is the weekend before Thanksgiving. It would not be all christmas, but the reception site may have a large tree with white lights near entrance (the site's normal Christmas decs) and may have some christmas type accents at the church.

  1. If it makes you, and your hubby-to-be happy you shouldn't care what anybody else thinks.

  2. yes it would be strange in my opinion.  i wish people on here would give honest answers and not just go with the lame ... if it makes you happy thing all the time! people are here to get opinions

if the christmas tree and accents are already there at the church i think that is OK but for you to base your whole theme on the christmas thing ... the timing is wrong it's way too long before christmas

  3. no i dont think that is strange at all.most stores have there christmas stuff right around that time.i say go for it it will be totally unexpected and put people in the festive mood.also awesome date....its my brithday!!!

  4. Its over a month before Christmas, and also people will be thinking about Thanksgiving and expecting things to be more Thanksgiving/fall themed.  I would either change the date to December or make it a fall themed wedding.

  5. It depends if its before Thanksgiving or not. Before thanksgiving would be weird but after thanksgiving would be ok. For example, all the stores switch over to christmas after thanksgiving. Really you should go what you and your future spouse want not yahoo answers =]

  6. no necessarily but what about a fall themed wedding that would be better

  7. As long as you don't use red and green both or something, then I don't see a problem with it.

Thanksgiving typically starts off the "holiday season", and since it's the weekend before Thanksgiving, I think it would be a sort of kick off to that season. ..... If the tree has ornaments on it already, then that might seem kinda weird... but if it's just a plain alpine tree or whatever with white lights, then it's defintily fine.

  8. no do what ever makes you happy good luck and congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. NO I DONT THINK THAT IT WOULD BE STRANGE AS LONG AS IT WASNT TO THE EXTREME. I THINK A FEW LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS WOULD BRING IT OUT AS LONG AS THERE DECORATIONS GO WOTH YOUR SETTING AT THE WEDDING. I THINK HAVEING A FEW LIGHTS OUT WULD LIGHTEN UP THE WEDDING AND ALL ITS THAT TIME OF SEASON SO WHEREVER YOU S-CHOOSE WILL PROBABLY HAVE SOME SORT OF CHRISTMAS DECORATION SOMEWHERETHERE

  10. it would be the holidays during that time, but it would be kinda strange actually

  11. If it is ok for someone here to have fuschia and and lime green bridesmaids dresses, and somebody answering told someone to do pastels for a fall wedding, it is ok to have a Xmas decorated wedding in November.

You can do an all white snowflakes and ice theme, or you can do the red and green thing. A friend has an all gold Xmas, and I have an all pink one[well, that is one of the trees and the decorations in one room anyway]. My friend has a jewel tone Xmas, emerald, amythyst, ruby, cobalt, royal purple, gold, silver[think the diferent colors that velvet comes in].

Many are the brides that wait to have a wedding to take advantage of the poinsetias that people bring to the church alter for the Xmas season, free decorations, and in all the right colors.

  12. In all honestly, I would find it somewhat odd.  But it's your wedding, your day.  So if it's what you want, go for it.
