  1. Yes, unless you want to be classified as a child molestor.

  2. Just be prepared to have an extensive background check done.

  3. Go for it hun.

  4. If you sincerely want to help others and share what you know with youth, then go for it.  You'll have to move quickly if you want to help this year but contact your local Girl Scout Council and I bet they are still in need of help.  My daughter went to a resident (stay over) camp and there was a guy who was a counselor there.  She didn't think it was wierd.  You have to sleep in a different area and there are definate guidelines when a male is with a troop, camping, counseling, etc. but it's nothing dreadful.  Girls desperately need good male role models.    There are lots of programs during the school year too but on the weekends that maybe you can help with.  All levels of Scouts have computer related patches or could just use an extra set of hands.  Go for it!  And it doesn't matter if your 20 or 40 but the girls will get along better with you if you're 20 :)

  5. no not really

unless it was for teenage girls lol

then it wul be cuz youd have teens thinking your so hot and everything and all the c**p people try to start now is just dumb (ex. rape)

  6. That's great. But the girls will probably get crushes on you so you have to deal with that in a mature way. And I hope you have good intentions and are a nice, caring guy.

  7. met a boy who is working at the local GSA day camp.  he's great with the girls and proud to do what he does.  go for it!!

  8. If you're hot and the girls are around 13-16 it's okay.

But if you look like a molestor and the girls are like 4-10 years old you have a problem...

  9. YES. I would be strange, because their are girls that are in their teens, not just little girls. It's just asking for problems.

  10. I think you wanting to apply for a girl scouts camp is awesome ! but i know parents wont take it that way.

I can just see moms complaining about "the creepy 20 year old watching our little girls"

If it's something you really wanna do, then obivously go for it, theres no losing. But if its just an option and you could maybe get a job somewhere else and do something else you like...

i think you should keep your options open though ;)

  11. No it wouldn't be that odd if you need a job.  They would do a thorough background/police check on you and you would never be left alone with any of the girls so you should be fine.

  12. OK, you've asked this question 5 times, so far. That is a bit weird.

  13. If you aren't a pedophile and feel you can do some good, go for it.  I guess I'm just curious about what job you are applying for.  I wouldn't adivse wearing a Girl Scout uniform, however.

Will be selling Girl Schout cookies?????

  14. Yes, it would be weird.  No, it shouldn't be.  Go for it, though.

  15. better than a 40 year old guy.

  16. I'm a 13 year old girl scout, and when I go camping there's usually 50 year old guys, so a 20 year old guy would be a step up. I don't think it's that awkward.  Go for it, if you think that you'll like that job.

"If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life."

  17. I don't have an issue with it but my question to you is "what is your passion?" You will happiest if you are doing something you are passionate about.

Sure, you can work at a Girl Scouts Camp but will you enjoy it? If you think you will then I would say "go for it". Otherwise keep looking for something that will keep you smiling all day long....

  18. Not at all. Just be open about it from the start. But be prepared not to get the job anyway - just look at some of the other answers you got.

  19. i had a male lifeguard at a girl scout camp once

and also a male nurse assistant, i think it was her son

so it wouldnt be so weird

  20. Some people might think so, but I don't see why. Don't your children go to school? I'm sure there's somebody at their school that is a male. Any other camp you go to is going to have male workers too. That would be discrimination if they refused to hire men. I went to camp when I was 12 and there were plenty of (good looking lol) counselors and instructors. I don't see any problem with it as long as you and the campers understand that you are an employee at the camp and you make sure to have good intentions. I think you should go for it. Good luck. =]

  21. No, you'd probably be very popular, but you'd probably also have some VERY strict guidelines on how you interacted with the campers, and your movement in the camp.  You probably woudn't have a direct counselor role, since the counselors often live in the same cabin, etc., with the girls, so you might be helping at sports venues, as a lifeguard, etc.

Worth a shot -- they are, after all, an Equal Opportunity Employer!

  22. I'm sure you wouldn't be the first!

  23. if they thought it was creepy then they wouldn't hire you. but i'm sure other people have done the same thing. it's just a job.

  24. I wouldn't let my daughter go to camp with a male worker there.  Try the YMCA, I used to work there in after school care, and they have summer camps too.

  25. if you need a job then go for it, but it sounds kinda pedifileish

    not calling u a pedipfile

  26. nope!! i'm a girlscout and go camping and i see alot of adult men like for example white pines, they had men there working like cleaning up cash register and so on. go ahead apply

  27. dont do it.......you know how America is nowadays.  even if they were boys something wrong would happen......times are a changin'......this is not America anymore.

  28. Why not?

They will have to do a police s*x offenders check on you.

    If your clean,go for it.

  29. I don't think so at all.  I think it'd be great.

  30. well it mite be. i wouldnt know, but at least your not like 40. since your younger, it wouldnt be as awkward.

  31. Wierd? What, are they afraid of men, now? There are male teachers at most girls schools, so why couldnt you work at a girl scout camp?
