  1. I wouldn't recommend it.  I mean, general bookkeeping is just mostly lots of 5th grade math, but with a lot of numbers.  Actual financial management involves some rigorous use of spreadsheets and understanding some complex concepts.  If you weren't good at math in high school, some of the logic behind complex financial management techniques will be beyond you.  There's a big difference between managing your own money and managing a business' money... and if you're right out of high school, I'm guessing you don't have a lot of money to manage anyways.

So I'm gonna say no, it would not be a good idea.  Find a field you're better suited for and avoid the hassle of switching majors or getting into a career you won't succeed in.

  2. Well if this is what you really want to do then i'd say go for it but if you do it you cant go in being unconfedent and work extra hard at it. If you dont feel confterble going take a step back and figure out what else your good at

  3. Just because you aren't good at something doesn't mean you don't have the potential to become better. One thing high school doesn't teach you is to learn skils. It give you knowledge enough to pass the final and that's it. If finance is realyl what you want to do then you have to put in the time to know enough about math to suceed at it. It really is as simple as that. It's a waste of time if you don't want to put in the time to learn.

  4. It depends what you're looking at for a career.  There are finance jobs out there that don't involve a lot of math, but they're all going to need SOME.  One thing you probably would not want to do is go into accounting.  You need to be very accurate in accounting.

You might want to look at something in financial planning or advising.

  5. Finance involves very little math. It does, however, require a great deal of knowledge about numbers, figures, simple adding , subtracting etc. So it all depends on what your definition of math entails.
