depends... if you could go for a few more $$ I would say to get a better one... but just to get in the video chat game yea a $20 webcam is a good start point...

get a psp eye toy and go to instructables to modd it into a web cam

If that's the only webcam you can afford, why not?  But if you can spend more, then get something that is prized mid-range.  Always remember: You get what you pay for. :)

it'll look horribly bad but if thats all uve got then yeah.. go for a low resol camera...ebay might be of help
