Scott Baker's started 11 games so far this season with a 4-2 record, 3.57 ERA, 52 Ks, 12 BBs, 1.21 WHIP.

Out of those 11 games he started, he faced the Detroit Tigers twice.

1st appearance v. DET: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 HR, 2 BB, 3 Ks.

2nd appearance v. DET: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 BB, 2 Ks.

Both appearances resulted in No Decisions for Baker. Baker has come on strong since returning to the starting rotation, but the Tigers are starting to heat up.

  1. Yes of course. Baker is pretty underrated because he is a very serviceable starter in your standard mixed league. He has been on a good run lately and the Tigers are no longer that good offense without Ordonez AND Cabrera possibly.

I actually think this is a good matchup and would start him and expect a very solid outing.

  2. The question really is- Is it wise NOT to start Scott Baker? He's done amazing so far this year; better than any Tigers pitcher. Of course you start him; unless you're in a shallow 6-team league or something...

  3. Nope. As a Tigers fan, I can tell you that their offense is rolling, it isn't gonna stop for a while.

If you have the balls to start him tonight though, go for it, but I wouldn't suggest it.....
