I just found out that theres a new rule and colleges only get to see the highest score that you receive on the SAT's. So my question is should I take them as many times as possible? I don't mind sitting down for 3 hours and taking the test. Or should I keep it at 3 or less?

The key features are as follows:

>

> Colleges and universities will continue to have the flexibility to set

> their own policies regarding whether applicants are required to send

> scores for all sittings of the test.

>

> Students will be able to select which scores they send to colleges by

> sitting (test date) for the SAT and by test for SAT Subject Tests(tm).

>

> The new score-reporting feature will be optional - if students do not

> choose to have any of their scores withheld, all scores will be sent

> automatically.

>

> Scores will be sent by SAT test sitting - scores of individual

> sections from different sittings cannot be selected independently for

sending.

>

> Students can send any/all scores to a college on a single report; it

> will not cost students more to send a single, multiple or all test

> scores.

>

> The functionality of the new score-reporting feature will be available

> to all students via the Web or by calling Customer Service toll free

> (within the United States).

>

> The new score-reporting feature can be used on any score report that

> students send:

>

> the four score reports available through registration (applying to

> already scored tests) andadditional score reports.

>

> Students who complete a test prior to the launch of the new

> score-reporting feature will be able to take advantage of this option

> when sending past scores.

  1. Absolutely. If you are able to afford the $40 something dollars that is used to pay for such examinations, I say this is great. But one advice I would like to give you is prepare well. This means drill, drill, drill. The pressure is off of you with this new rule, but you want to get it done as soon as possible. Also, make sure you sign up as soon as possible because many students are going to attempt to do what you are trying to do. Good Luck!

  2. I'm personally going to take it as many times as I can because I want to get into an Ivy League college (Columbia College in NYC) and therefore need to get as high of a score as possible.

  3. You usually get your best score the first or senond time you take it, no matter how many times you try. But if you are really wanting a certain score, I'm sure it woudln't hurt, but will cost you more money.

  4. UNLIKE THE ACT. THEY SEE ALL OF THE HISTORY OF YOUR SAT TEST SCORES
