Question:

Would it be worth it to switch hockey skates?

Right now I'm using the Easton Synergy 500 Senior Ice Hockey Skates but I really like the look and feel of the Reeboks. So I'm looking to sell my Synergy's and get a pair of Reeboks. I looked and I can sell mine for about $125. So I can get either the 1k, 3k, 4k, or 5k. Would it be worth it if I sell mine and get any of these or would it be like I'm trading down.

Synergy 500's to Rbk 1k? Worth it?

Synergy 500's to Rbk 3k? Worth it?

Synergy 500's to Rbk 4k? Worth it?

Synergy 500's to Rbk 5k? Worth it?

Or am I better off keeping my skates?

  1. Don't keep your skates if you don't like them. I'd get new ones

  2. All worth it man they are great skate but getta good deal on an online site.

  3. just eat ur skates on the street. ull get more than 125 street performing than selling them

  4. i wouldnt buy the 1k or 3k, your skates are better than those... if your gonna sell ur good set of skates, might as well suck it up and get the good ones. buy the 5k white pumps, just filty skates

  5. I don't know how often you play but don't even consider the 1 3 or4k's at the very worst get the 5k's the 1k 3k and4k's are c**p.The 5k's will last longer and are a big step up over the others as far as strength and quality. Check out hockeymonkey.com and hockeygiant.com they had them on sale a while back.

  6. id keep your skates, they seem better if you think about it =)

  7. All of those would be trading down except for the 5K, which is about the same level skate.

If you do it, I would sell and put a little more money into it to get a one piece composite boot rather then a composite quarter boot like you have. It's a lot lighter and better performing. more expensive to, but worth it. The lowest end one Easton makes is the Synergy 800- I don't think RBK makes one, the pumps are more of a traditional construction boot (with neat features)

If you really want to go for RBKs, and have about 125, you can't get a 5k for that without putting in extra money, but that's your best option.
