Question:

Would it be worth trying for this job...?

I'd have to drive around 100 miles a day to get back and forth from work. My car gets about 20-28 miles per gallon of gas, and in my area gas is about $4.00 a gallon.

I'd be getting paid around $6.00 an hour starting out, and i'm not thinking the price in gas, and maintenance on the car due to the trip would be worth the job.

What do you think? :/

  1. Considering the amount of money you would be making and the distance you would have to drive, I'd say no.  Look for something much closer ( or that pays enough to cover both the cost of fuel and the time you would spend commuting ).

  2. Of your 8 hour day, 2.66 hours will be spent just on gas alone

  3. No, it wouldn't be worth it.  The amount of money you spend on your car (gas, maintenance, extra insurance, and so on) will take up all your salary and then some.

Unless, of course, you want this job for some strategic reason like it's going to lead to a higher-paying job or something.

  4. no try to get a job closer to your house make sure you like it
