is it possible to get a cheap non-brand eyeglasses (with no prescription) from some site

and then take it to a optometrist to get new lenses?

would it cost less that way?

Sure it will be cheaper.

I suggest you take them to an optician though, not an optometrist.

I've read several times in here that many optometrists will charge an extra 30.00 or so for the lenses if you didn't get the frame from there.
