My boyfriends on holiday in greece, he wants to send me a text - but would it cost me to recieve it?

  1. If he uses a US card, maybe. If he uses a Greek / European card: no way. European cellphone providers don't charge by airtime, but on a "sender / caller pays all" scheme. It may cost HIM to receive a msg from YOU if he uses a European SIM; but they provide the option "block incoming when roam". So don't be sore if your msg comes back as undeliverable.


  2. Not if he can find service with his usual cell phone.

    However, if he is on a phone with a service based in Greece, it can run up to $2.50 U.S. currency. Ridiculous.  

  3. On a cell phone, yes. By e-mail, no.

  4. I believe it depends on your carrier and if your boyfriend is using a greek number or his american number.If he is using his american number then u should not get charged as it will be like receiving a text from him here in the states. If he has a greek number then you will probably get charged. for example if you have T-mobile you will get charged 15 cents per message you send and receive.
