  1. Well, dentist and orthodontists have a perfect picture of your perfect bite all in perfect alignment....

Look in the mirror-----Does it look good, are your teeth functioning properly....that is your decision.  They are in the business to make money.  If you are happy, that is what matters.

  2. your teeth are held in their sockets with a ligament (the periodontal ligament, or PDL.)  Too much pressure on the PDL (like with extra rubber bands) can move your teeth too quickly and cause permanent damage to the PDL.  A damaged PDL can cause teeth to be permanently loose, or worst case scenario, they can even fall out!  By the way, when you visit the ortho, your teeth are sore becuase the PDLs are under pressure after the more rigid wires are applied.  That's why your teeth hurt.  Best to follow the advice of your ortho exactly.  You probably paid a flat fee when your braces were applied, so your ortho has nothing to gain from you wearing your braces longer.  SMILE!

  3. I have the same problem kinda. My dentist said that I have a perfect lining but my teeth are to out. I think too much of an overbite. So I'm getting braces.

I think you should ask your dentist or orthodontist that's they're job, to answer your questions! They know best :]

  4. ask ONLY your orthodontist this question
