  1. This should be no problem. Base curve and diameter are probably just for added comfort. As long as they feel okay. And no issues. Your presciption is what you need to go by to see clearly.

  2. I believe you are confused as to what base cuve is.  A base curve of 0.00 in a contact lens would mean that the lens has no curvature whatsoever and would be totally flat like a sheet of paper.  The -1.00 you are referring to is the actual prescription of the lens, not the base curve.  As to whether wearing a prescription of 0.00 would be harmful -- no, it would not harm your eyes.  You just would not see as clearly as you would like.  Actually, you would see the same clarity as if you wore no contact lens at all.

  3. 0.00 is not a base curve.  neither is -1.00.  those are both "powers".

no, it would not really hurt anyone to wear a "plano" or 0.00 power lens if their Rx was -1.00.  you wouldnt see too good and might be dangerous to say DRIVE, but it wouldnt damage your eye any.

wearing the wrong "base curve" WILL probably cause damage.  thats why contacts have to be "fitted" to be the correct size & shape for YOUR EYE.  so if you are wearing contacts w/o the supervision of your optometrist or optician...well, you should go get under the supervision of an optometrist or optician.

  4. Actually -1.00 is your prescription, not your base curve. Your base curve is the 8 point or 9 point number. So if you wear a 0.00 instead of the -1.00 you just wont be able to see clearing because 0.00 mean there is no correction. As far as changing the base curve, you want to consult with your doctor before trying any other base curve or brand. When you were fitted your doctor your doctor measured your eye and chose that certain contact brand because it fit your eye. If you try a different one with out contacting your doctor it could possible scratch your eye, or do major damage. You shouldn't be able to get contact lenses from any where that are exactly what your doctor prescribed.
