Would it hurt to remove norton ghost from my computer

Question

I want to free up some space and I have not used this since 2006. I am not sure why it is there. I have other security so will it hurt anything to remove it

also I have norton security scan program which seems to scan automatically. If I remove norton ghost will this no longer works. It is listed separately in the add and remove program section

if only answering one answer please answer..will it hurt to uninstall the norton ghost..

ghost has nothing to do with security/virus protection.  Ghost is a hard drive image program (it makes backups of your hard drive.)

It is safe to remove this program if you don't want it.
