Or would you not notice? I usually only see people on sport bikes with those types of helments on..

But I was thinking of using a full face helment with a cruiser bike..

  1. You'll look fine.  If you want the cruiser look, get a dark gray helmet...

and believe me, you'll look better after a crash if you were wearing a full face helmet.  You do like the way your chin looks now, right?

I ride a cruiser-style Yamaha Virago, and use a full face Arai helmet.

  2. You'll look weirder with your facial parts smeared along 200 feet of roadway. Wear  or not wear a helmet if you have the right to choose.

  3. No it's common to see.

  4. I always wore a full face on my cruiser, and I looked d**n good.

    ; )

Seriously though, it's all personal preference. As a lot of other posters already stated, I enjoy that it's a bit safer, and also the anonymity of it is kind of alluring! : O

  5. Where what makes you comfortable. Be careful with ful faced helmets though. Some times when you look over your shoulder for traffic you can veer over into the next lane. They also cut down any surrounding sound by quite a bit. Stay alert! Avoid a black helmet if the weather gets real hot, they will feel like an oven.

Be safe, stay alert and have fun

I ride with a half helmet and have gone down with it....Im still here. Been down with a full face and almost ground the chin off due to the weight of it.

Also dont get over-confident just because it a full face helmet. Going down with a full face could break your neck.

  6. i would definitley get a full face , hurts a little when you get smacked in the face by a bug goin 50mph or even rocks that may get kicked up by other cars.

  7. nope... i have one for my cruiser

  8. Not really, I see it all the time. You buy and use what you like

  9. I think it would be smart not weird.  I can't believe how many people don't wear any helmet at all.  It just seems foolish;  something that simple can save a life and so many people don't wear them.

  10. It's personal perference.  But a 'Full Helmet' offers more protection.  I've never used a full; started in '73 with 3/4 and for the last 10 yrs use 1/2 helmet.  But that's my choice of brain bucket.

  11. My best bro rides a Honda Valkyrie and wears a full face helmet, as does my wife when she rides her Honda Magna.

I consider both of them to be "the real deal" when it comes to motorcycling.

Helmet use isn't about looking cool or weird, though,  Its about personal preference, safety and  peace of mind.  "Ride your own ride" is advice that extends to every facet of motorcycling.

  12. You wear a full face if you are smart, and a half is you want to die/are of lower intelligence/dont mind scarring your face on the pavement.

  13. You know I kind of went through that myself recently. I've only ridden sport bikes and motocross bikes in the past and when I bought my first cruiser last year I did notice that pretty much all cruiser folks, especially Harley riders, wear half helmets. I just really don't feel safe in a half helmet, maybe from all the years racing in full gear. I now wear a full face helmet and a jacket with body armor. I feel like I get some funny looks from other Harley riders, but I really don't care. I never have been a "fit in with the crowd" kind of guy anyway. I enjoy riding much more since I moved to the full face.

  14. I wear full face, jacket and boots on my 650. Don't really care much if others think it looks wierd or not.

  15. I always wear full face when on the highway at speed. Around town I wear either one, full face or half  helmet, depending on the weather and the time of day. Full face before daylight and half when just riding because I wear shades during the daylight hours.

  16. no. not at all. wear what you want

  17. others that ride would think your intelligent

  18. lets get rolling here....lol

sport-bike riders wear full-face helmets because they don't want anyone to recognize them riding rice.

come on guys, lets get the week off to a good start here.

  19. No many do, many sport bike riders like them because it hides the look of terror on their face and no one can see the tears. I have both and in  bad weather it sure is nice

  20. Hun

looks have nothing to do with safety. They are a false sense of security. For wind and rain and bugs they are prefered.

    LA you are a fool.

Ive been riding for over 45 years. I have never even hit my head on the ground once.

But then Ive raced from age 9, was tought how to fall, and wear a 1/2 bucket when ever its not raining.

Do you wear a neck collar with a full face, like the racers do?

Naw you don't mind if you neck snaps like a twig.

Mean while you in a tank top and short and sneakers going over the speed limit on your crotch rocket.

Your $800 full face will save you.
