  1. Of course.  When ever you turn off something using energy, you are saving tonnes of emissions being released into the atmosphere!  You should find out when the peak times for energy consumption are in our area and avoid using appliances, stc during these hours.  Every little bit counts!

  2. yeah it does it wont use as much electricity but you would only notice the cahnge in your bill if you did it every night

  3. wow you must live up north north cause how could u stand that lol

i live in florida and we keep it on all day all night all the time no excuses its always freezing in the morning but we cant turn it off ause it takes a while to recover for the afternoon

that being said usually when you shut it off at night it wont be cold enough during the day

our electricity bill is ridiculus but then again we dont have to pay for heaters during the wintor

  4. OBVIOUSLY, u will save a TON of money, save the environment, save your health :)

  5. Yes, if your using electricity all night, then you stop that is what about 8 hours a night? give or take times 30ish days, that makes 240 hours of power you aren't using

  6. it will make a big difference

  7. yes that's right because it does make a difference.

  8. Aside from cost considerations, each of us has the

responsibility to minimize energy usage for

environmental reasons.  Any electricity you DON'T

use means less air pollution.  Each individual's part

is small, but it adds up.

On the money side, you can estimate the amount using

    this page http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/ho...

You'll need to know how many watts the unit uses

and your electricity cost per kilowatt-hour.

But basically it comes down to this:

when the unit is on it costs you money,

and when it is off it does not.

    For example:

Using round numbers, if the unit uses 1000 watts

and your electricity costs 10c /kwh, then

running it 8 hours/night will cost you 80c/night or

    about $24/month or $288/year.
