Would it pass inspection if.....?

Question

If I cut the roof of a minivan and made it a convertible would it pass inspection?

Call your local dot office. Not sure if your state has roll over requirements.

If it is a van with a uniltic body you will not need to woory about a safety inspection. The first heavy bump you go over will be the last one you go over. Cause the van will flow-up. The van need a fram rail. Even that has to be beef up to carry all the weight. It is cheaper to but one made or covert over to what you want. It will not be cheaper which every way you go. Cause you will need to install a roll over kit for safety. I don't think it is worth the trouble.  And you would fall under the pick-up rule about people riding in the rear.

yes it will inspection is only on the muffler system

rollbars, engineering certificates, approvals, the cost goes up exponentially- forget being silly.
