  1. I dont know the answer but jut wanted to echo your hatred for these horrible frames , Ecologically they must be a disaster , how the heck will we dispose of them when they are finished, with wood you can recycle and let it rot down .would always looks better as far as I am concerned and I reckon they will last as long as upvc as long as you paint them at regular periods.

Good on you for bringing this up.

  2. It might be, but you have to use a special undercoat for the purpose (B&Q). Try a small bit first to be sure it works.

  3. They do make a spray paint now that will stick to plastic.  You just want to be sure the # plastic and spray is compatible. People are using the spray to spruce up those LIttle Tike Toys and stuff like that.

I agree.  I am a wooden window fan, myself.  A lot of maintenance but they look nice.  If you are painting the exterior, perhaps you could face them with wood?

  4. You can paint PVC.  Rub the frames down with fine wet & dry and paint with non-drip gloss.  Don't use primer or traditional gloss paint or it will split and peel off when the sun shines on the frame.

  5. Try a primer and then paint maybe. Just make sure the primer is dry before painting. This may not be a good answer so you should go to Home Depot, or someplace and ask a professional.

  6. You are better off with the PVC window Frames for last-ability.

If you want to change the colour you are best off using a flexible acrylic paint. DO NOT rub the frame down, you'll ruin the frames and never get a decent finish.
