  2. First, if the jelly bean parrot is any color other then a white or pale pink,do not buy it becaue it's dyed.  They do not naturally come in blue, purple, hot pink, green, etc  Only white and a very pale pink.  They're one of the more commonly dyed fish out there.  Fish dyeing is a very cruel process, so don't buy dyed fish.

They're tropical fish.  So, when the water temperature starts to drop below 76°F they'll need to be brought inside.  You can try putting them with guppies and zebras, but it's very possible they'd be eaten, swordtails and algae eater should be fine.  I kept a blood parrot with community fish, and the only thing he ate were the neons and female bettas.  Just depends on the fish's personality. I wouldn't recommend keeping it with goldfish though.

  3. jellybeans, 'algae eaters', guppies and swordtails are all tropical fish.

  4. That should be okay!

  5. Nope.

Your best bet for an outdoor pond is goldfish or koi. "Common" goldfish are a little hardier and better suited for outdoor life than "fancy" goldfish. It's best to keep them on their own - goldfish will make a snack out of guppies and danios.

Even goldfish kept indoors shouldn't really be mixed with other fish. Some people have kept them with plecos without incident, but it's easier not to risk it.

Also, most fish sold as "jelly bean parrot fish" are just light colored parrots injected with dye. It's not really a humane thing to do, and lots of them die from it. Stay away from fish that are dyed - there are lots of pretty fish that have their own natural colors!

If you want nice looking fish for an indoor tank, you could look into angelfish or gouramis or lots more - endless possibilities.

  6. Well they are tropical fish so if you live somewhere very warm they will be ok! But if you live in Europe/USA then probably a bad idea.
