You should get your facts straight before you write your question.  The missiles that were parked in Cuba in the early 60's were to carry nuclear warheads to be fired at the US.  The missiles that will be placed in Poland do not have nuclear warheads, they are ABM's designed to hit medium and short range missiles, not multiple warheads on ICMB's, which are the types the Russians use for their strategic nuclear forces.  These 10 ABM's couldn't do a thing to stop a strike from Russia.  Russia is yapping about it because it doesn't want Poland, a former nation enslaved by the old Soviet Union (Russia), to be aligned with the west and the US.

Just FYI -- John Wayne, the famous actor, passed away in 1979, so I doubt he really even cares about the placement of ABMs in Poland.

ABMs are defensive in nature -- they do not threaten anyone.  The Missiles the Soviets placed in Cuba were short-to-medium range nuclear ballistic missiles, deliberately placed to intimidate the U.S.  Your whole premise is comparing apples to mealworms.

Oh, and BTW -- the U.S. has been working to put ABMs in Europe since the JimmY Carter days, so this has nothing to do with the current President except that he happens to be in office when it came to fruition.
