  1. I live in the state of Veracruz.  The damage done by the hurricanes,  was not too serious to the highways and was quickly repaired.  The route all the way along the coast from Brownsville to Veracruz city is fine.  There is no city in the state called Huatulco that I can find.  But there is Huatusco, near Orizaba.  Could that be it?  I have not been up there in aout a yr. and a half, but the road up that way is a pretty typical smaller Mexican highway.  It is normal for it to have stretches with lots of rough pavement, potholes, and many curves...that is just the normal condition on the stretch near Huatusco.  The main highway all the way down the coast is good, especially after Tampico...where  much of it is 4 lane toll road.   Have you driven in Mexico before?  Here are some websites with good info.  I would be glad to answer other questions , if you need furthur help.  Just email me.

Just found out there is a Huatulco in the state of Oaxaca...is that the place you mean?  If so , you can still use this mapsite to plot a driving route there .
