  1. The closest I can find is Salgai, which means "from Salgó". There are or were places with this name in Nógrád, Nyitra, and Sáros counties. The one that comes most readily to mind is Salgótarján, the current county seat for Nógrád, which is named for a nearby hill-fort named Salgó (plus the old clan or tribe name Tarján). The placename's origin is an old Hungarian word (now obsolete) meaning 'bright, shining'.
