  1. It's easy if you're good at math and crunching numbers. You have to understand all of the tax laws.

I think it's a 8-5 job except during tax season (Feb- Mar-Apr) especially April. Then you're working nights and weekends too.

It depends on who you work for. Every company may have their own rules.

  2. every jobs are difficult. nothing is easy. accounting must be good in math and fast. it depends on what type of company lo..

  3. In my opinion, with the advent of spreadsheets, it's not so much needing to be great at math (though good arithmatic skills would be good) as it is needing to be able to check figures and make sure the right data is entered into the computer in order to get the correct outcome. To me, that kind of job would be less difficult and more mind-numbingly repetitive and boring

  4. you don't have to be that great in math.  most accountants i know would give me a blank stare if i asked them a basic calculus question.  when people say you need to be good at math, just knowing algebra is sufficient.

depending on who you are accounting for, a company or individual people, your hours will vary.  entry level accounting at a big firm will have you working ridiculous hours even on weekends and tends to have a reputation for being a burnout job.  On top of the hours you are working, you may also be going to night school for your masters which just adds to the misery.  Once you put your time in, the career gets a little more stable and the pay gets better.  accounting is an extremely stable job(job security).

although you will have job security, if you are working for an accounting firm you will start to get the feeling you are competing with the people you are working with for those promotions in the company.  This can be very stressful for some people.

  5. You have to be good at math. I heard it's kind of difficult. I would imagine that you would work for a company that works like a 9-5 type of thing. Anyway, good luckl!

  6. The Job requires a math background and attention to detail. The time of year(Tax Time)and any other projects that your company may be involved in will determine your workload.
