Would like to move to cairns?

i want to move to palm cove or trinity beach areas in cairns and i wanna know what kind of nightlife there is there and what time are the clubs open till? Can anyone also tell me if you can drive from sydney to cairns? and what part of Cairns has the cyclones? any information from anyone would be great.
