Hi, i have a question and i really wanted to get people's opinion about it.

I recently thought of an old flyers player. None other than Eric Lindros. I was just thinking of how good he was, how good he could have been, and where he would stand on a list of the greatest hockey players. he was easily hated, but in my opinion, one of the most dominent and hard working players in hockey history. Of course many people disliked him because of his attitude and his mouth, i would like to know your opinions of him as a hockey player, where he is on the great list, and if you think despite the dissapointment, was he still an overall great player?

  1. Not all players with talent can have long careers. Its unfortunate that his career was one that was shorter compared to many other guys with talent like his. Regardless of what people say, Lindros was still a great player. When he was on the ice he made a difference.

  2. i thought Lindros was a great player even when he was on Philedelphia i thought he was great. when he came to the rangers i was so excited, even though he didn't play his best and everything when he was on the rangers i still liked him, he scored great goals and everything. My first jersey had his name on it. like other people have said if he didn't have that many concussions then he would have obviously of had a better career that lasted longer.

  3. Ok I was a HUGE Lindros fan till he went psycho and thought the Flyers doctors were trying to kill him by putting him in a plane with a collapsed lung so...

Eric was a very good player.Hart Trophy winner(While 99 & 66 were playing so not easy),top 5 in NHL history for PPG(Points per Game eh) but the concussions which were his fault for keeping his head down while carrying the puck led to having to retire at an early age, just like his younger brother Brett. With his numbers he should get into the Hall of Fame.

Puck the drop already!!I always s***w that up.

  4. I'm not much of a Flyers fan but Eric Lindros is a good player. I'll be honest I'm not impressed with his attitude or mouth.

  5. he was great if it wasnt for concussions he would still be lightin the lamp right now... but he just insisted on keeping his head down when going through the neutral zone and kept getting rocked... he was very good though with the flyers and rangers for a little while lol

  6. I've been a Flyers fan for a long time, and Eric Lindros has to be one of my favorite players in the team's history. Lindros has to be in the top 50 greatest hockey players of all time. He was an incredible player, plus, Philadelphia loved him for his attitude and his mouth.

  7. Lindros was a great player..  The problem with him was everyone seemed to have this perception that he was a whiner and that his Mom and Dad made all of his decisions.  He didn't skate with his head up which ultimately led to his concussion problems.  Other than that, he had one of the best SNAPshots I've seen.  He could take a snapper and Rifle it in the upper corner.  In my opinion he is in the Cam Neely category.  Sure Neely scored 50 goals in 50 games but that was in the 80's where my grandma could score on the goalies before their equipment was inflated like JS Giguere's...  It's a shame.  All of the bests seem to have their careers shortened due to injuries...  Orr, Mario, Forsberg, Lindros and if Crosby's ankle isn't rejuvenated, you can add him to the list as well...

Don Cherry had a lot to do with his development.  Every new player that comes into the league that is NOT born in Kingston has a bulls eye on their backs.  Don Cherry is the only reason the CBC is alive and his bs is listened to by all 750 NHL players.

  8. Yea he was a good player and i'd put him in the top 10 but in hockey its about how you act on and off the ice

  9. YOu know- I really liked him when he first came out- he was a great player- but then he just kind of faded away- or just had one too many concussions if I remember correctly.  What ever happened to him anyway?

I guess I could say he faded away from my radar since I live in Michigan and its hard to follow other teams when they dont show any on tv.

  10. Yes he was awesome, I am not a fan of any team he played on but that guy was a stud. It's too bad he didn't get a cup, but it happens to the best of us.
