  1. BEST DOGS EVER

I live in Louisiana and literally everyone has a lab.

they are very active intelligent and sweet dogs

mine was very very easy to train and house train (he was a stray so he had no housebreaking experience nor manners) he picked everything up in literaly two days. Sit, Lay, Shake, dont jump and potty trained in two days

they do tend to shed a good bit but a good brush every day or two helps

    i give the breed a 10/10

  2. I would highly recommend you get a labrador puppy :)

I have a black labrador, she is almost nine years old and she is amazing.

I would advise you to go for a black lab or a white lab, the chocolate labs can be a little bit nuts to say the least.

Labradors are very loyal, very loving, VERY intelligent (hence why they are used for Guide Dogs) and are lots of fun.

As long as you are firm but fair with the puppy it will be easy to train. You should start from an early age and reward all of it's positive behaviour. Labs are very much food orientated so a lab puppy will usually respond well to small treats as a reward for good behaviour.

Same goes for house training, as long as you start young and reward them when they go in the right place then they are straight forward enough to house train.

As for shedding they will usually have about two large moults a year and will shed a bit in between. As long as they are groomed on almost a daily basis (as ours is) then the shedding is not too bad at all. They don't have the longest of coats so, there are much worse breeds that you could select for shedding.

  3. i have a labby, a golden one we call him kane, he is 5 yrs old,

my son chose him from the kennels, he cost £350.00 at 9 wcks old.

i can honestly say that a labrador is the ultimate breed of dog.

hes a gun dog by nature. he loves people especially children. he is a good watch dog, he is loyal and he gives you lots of cuddles and

i love my kane second only to my son.

  4. yes  they are very lovely dogs ,black; chocolate or golden. we had a pair called jet and polly .most loyal cleverest dogs we ever had.sadly they lived to a ripe old age and eventually died ,my wife and i cried like babies;they were part of our family for several years we are both now in our twilight years and it would not be fair to keep any more in case anything happened to us.you go ahead and get a labrador puppy and have a very loyal friend to keep you company.good luck.

  5. This site will tell you everything you need to know.

    http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/breeders...

Yes they are one of the worst breeds for shedding.

  6. The Labrador Retriever is a wonderful breed they are great with kids(if you have any) they love to learn which makes them one of the easiest breeds to train and house train. Shedding is moderate to high. However exercise requirements are demanding so you must have plenty of time to walk him/her. Temperament is  friendly, loyal ,clever, funny and energetic oh what the heck there a wonderful breed of dog if you have the time and energy. Oh and can be greedy. Try looking at the breed profile off of the web and make your own mind up. Hope this helps.
