This is a desire of ours, but would love comments on the hike itself...how long to get to top? Local places to stay (hotels?), suggestions on what not to do, or what you would highly suggest to do....not only the ancient city of Machu Picchu, but in town, food, hotels, sites, people, etc.?? Thanks bunches.

or in you tube , just search "Peru: The Royal Tour. 1-5"

check them 1,2,3,4,5. Really worth it. I think Machupichu is number 2 o 3. but check them

ALSO, u can visi www.43places.com and u will have lots of comments and people who visited Peru.

  2. I did Inka trail to Machupicchu, it's all the way, above 14000',  you'll love i.  I can e-mail photos, the trail map & any questions. There are travel agancies so very cheap, that they carry all your stuff they have tants & they have porters who carry everything, they cook, all you have to do just carry your personal stuff in your little back pack. My e-mail address is go2trail@yahoo.com

  3. Hi there.

Hiking on the Inca Trail is an experience of a lifetime.

It will take you 3 days and you will have the oportunity to walk along those ancient paths surrounded by nature and understand why the Inca kingdom was that important.

Better for you to organize this visit beforehand, either in Lima or in Cusco city since there is a limit of visitors to the ruins and Inca Trail per day.

I do not know your age but I tell you that last year my 56 years  old husband did the trip and had no problem at all.

You can find a small hotel or guesthouse in Aguas Calientes, the town at the bottom of the ruins.
