I've been singing my whole life and I did marching band last year. I'm doing choir as a class at school. I've already taken all of the drama classes my school has to offer. I'm starting marching band again for this year and I was just wondering if it would look good to put those things on my resume... I mean it's still performing in front of people...right?

  1. If you are looking for your first job right out of school then those things should be in there.  Especially focus on any leadership roles you took or accomplishments.  I was in the band in HS/College and found it an excellent way to learn teamwork and personal excellence.   Keep it up!

  4. Yep!

I did both while in Jr. high and high school (flag and dance teams, trumpet/coronet, pop choir, drama). And I loved it. It shows that you're able to work as an active member of a team, it demonstrates dedication, perseverance, an ability to learn, multitask, and coordination.

Everything you've done in and out of school you should put it in your resume. keep your bullets breif, and be sure to keep your resume limited to 2 (no more than 3) pages long. And always write it as if you where in a leadership role, even if you where not, because you show where you have the ability to lead others.
