  1. I think the car may be holding him back a bit. I can see him being a perennial chase participant and maybe a top 5 in the championship hunt with a top notch car/team. I'm fairly sure Hendricks doesn't want him if the got rid of a better driver cut from the same cloth in Kyle Busch.  I'd like to see him go to a team like JGR or RCR. Probably more a JGR because they seem to collect drivers with his attitude. He would clash with Burton's style and we already know about Harvik (still think harvik would have beat his @ss). I don't see Stewart hanging around to much longer and I figure they will be giving his car to Joey Logano. That still leaves room for a Montoya at JGR. With the money Toyota is dumping into their teams it shouldn't be hard for JGR to start up a 4th team.

  2. Probably not any better than he's doing now. It takes a couple of years at least to get the feel of the cars and he's still inexperienced compared to most of them.  He's done very well so far, much better than anyone else who's tried to make the transition.  Ganassi has struggled the past few years with performance issues, that being said, JPM might have better results with Hendrick equipment but skill-wise he's not ready to contend for wins every week.

  3. i don't know if that would be much better, unless he got with a team that had a crew chief used to grooming rather inexperienced nascar drivers like some of rfr's chiefs.

  4. Well, he couldn't do worse.

  5. I think Ganassi is over his head in NASCAR.  He has never had success here.  It surely cant help Montoya's progress to constantly changing crew chiefs.  They don't even give them a chance to setup how they want to run their team and see how it works

  6. hmm...maybe Roush or JGR, I don't think he fits the "Hendrick mold"

  7. I think he would be better going back to open wheel.

  8. I think he would do better with another team. Ganassi doesn't exactly have it together, and I don't think NASCAR is the top priority at Chip Ganassi Racing. I'd love to see what JPM could do in a JGR car.

  9. Yes.

  10. I agree with Lenny D on this one... He can't stay out of the wall long enough TO drive, and he causes some sort of caution every single weekend...

  11. I think he would be better off going back to the other form of racing. I do not think that he is patient enough to suceed here.........He is definitely a great driver but unless he backs off a bit he will continue to struggle.

  12. i dont really care montoya sucks eather way

  13. i don't think so (^-^)

  14. Of the mentioned teams I think Penske would be a better fit for him.

How ever the team he is with is  a decent team that is begining to have a better communication with each other.

  15. Penske, not Hendrick. Montoya in a Dodge is flattering enough!

  16. He would do better in an F1 car.

  17. definitely...NOT THE HENDRICK MOLD.

  18. He would never fit in at HMS! I think he fits better in F1.

  19. Of course he would run better if in better equipment.  The guy can drive.  Look at what he's done versus his teammates and he just started this.  I dont think by any means he would dominate the series, but he would win a few races each year.
