  1. I would say no, but it depends on the definition.  Biologically, a 'parasite' usually lives ON or IN the host, mosquitoes do not do that.

    It is a little more poetic, perhaps, but another definition of a parasite could be any person/organism that recieves some benefit from another person/organism without giving anything in return.  By that definition, a mosquito is a parasite.  But then, by that definition, a lion is a parasite when it eats a zebra.  I think the second definition applies better to people and social situations.

  3. Yes they are considered parasites. Just like some humans are considered parasites cause they feed off people or systems and live of other people and things.

  4. Yes, they must feed on another animal and therefore are a parasite. They also are vectors of other parasites. Females feed on blood, males feed on nector.
