Would musical poets like Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel be killed if they were to criticise the Govt today?

People, rightly or wrongly, used to voice their feelings against corruption in popular music.

Today, it's mostly celeb worship, pop idol and no talent.

Would real dissenting musicians today, like a certain Galilean preacher was; be murdered before they could dissent?

There are plenty of musicians criticizing the government and I don't see them being killed off. Consider: Pearl Jam, Neil Young, The Dixie Chicks, Green Day, The Flaming Lips to name just a few.

Do you think the US government has people listening to song lyrics and sending out death squads? This sounds a little bit unbelievable.
