i've been planning baby names ever since i was little. i know i want my son to be named Éamon after Éamon George de Valera, and my daughter to be Bryna, i think they'll hate me though because those names aren't very common. my name isn't common in the united states either, its Cailey

  1. oh gosh please no. those are all terrible

  2. I'm not sure how to pronounce either.  bri-na or bree-na, brI-na? I think either way it's pretty.

  3. Personally, I think if you want to go with an eccentric name, then you should go with a common middle name, so in the event your child doesn't end up likeing their first name, then they can always go b their middle name.

  4. there was a beautiful little girl named bryna (spelling was brenna though) in my son's preschool.

as long as you explain their name to them, instill a sense of pride about it, they will love you for thinking so carefully about a meaningful name for them.

    =)

  5. My only issue is that Eamon sounds similar to Amen. But other than that I like both the names you picked out and your name. I really like the way it spelled as well! :)

  6. How do you pronounce the names? I think unique names are fascinating. And unfortunately each persons answer differs. I vote, do what YOU want. If you love the names then go for it... if you're second guessing yourself, keep searching for names, but if you come back the original ones then I think you know the answer. :o)

  7. Eamon is the name of a singer in the us, i think its a decent name Bryna I personally dont like. To americanize it you could name her Sabryna...or if you like thats all that matters. I dont she'll hate it, nor ur son. Cailey is actually very popular in the us...i'm assuming thats where you are...

  8. I LOVE the name Eamon.  The accent really isn't necessary though.  Eamon = "ay-mun"  (the accent make me wanna say ay-ah-mun)

It's seems like I've heard of Bryna/Brinna Rose before...  Is it another musician?

I usually don't go for the "ununsual" name, but I think I really like this one.

  9. Nah.. I do not think they will hate you. Now, if you were trying to name your kid princess or precious, then that might be a different story.

  10. Your names are wonderful. So is yours. Cailey spelled your way is special, it would stand out here in the US.

You spelling is far from gabage, its the correct spelling for your culture and lovely at that.

Just think you'd never have to worry about being the 5th girl named Emily in kindergarten.

  11. they would accept it over time but i wouldn't name them that

think of all the trouble in school like teacher pronouncing it wrong

  12. I love love love Bryna, I also like Brynn and Brenna.

Eamon is okay, not my favorite but I don't think your son would hate you for it.

  13. My first crush (kindergarten to eighth grade)'s name was Eamon. I love it.

Bryna is gorgeous. I really like both of these names. They're not commmon but they're definitely not weird or anything. Bryna is a very pretty name and is obviously a hint to your heritage. Eamon...I'm jsut sooo biased towards that name : ) : )

  14. Cailey (spelled differently) is more common than you'd think.  The names you like aren't horrible, so no, I don't think your kids would hate you.  They may even be grateful for not being the 7th Megan or David in a class.

  15. I think they're good names because they are unique.  And not stupid unique, like some celebrities name their kids, i.e. Pilot and Audio Science.
