Would my hedgehog be too fast for me?

I do have one of those little cage gate like things that like don't have a bottom o top that i put out in my backyard sometimes so my hedgie can go outside but I was wondering if i really needed that thing, If my hedgie decided to run off would he be too fast for me to catch him?

Hedgehogs can run, but they can not outrun a human. When I have my hedgies in the backyard or in a room of my house and it is very easy to catch up with them. As long as you are supervising them, it should be okay.
