  1. ...NO...if belief is ideology...die to the last one...

  2. Whats that big word mean?

  3. It depends on the determination of "the one".

I've seen some give up when the odds were in their favor.

  4. Me...No, not when it is my spirit's quest to be reunited with God.

    Spirit..... No,

    Material..Yes

In general, some do.... some don't!  However, Fortune favors the brave+

  5. If the odds are insurmountable then you do not have the luxury of giving up. You have already lost.

  6. I think that would greatly depend upon the person and the situation.

If the situation were a matter of life or death, those most fit to survive would not just lay down and die.  They would continue to fight to live.  Meanwhile, the others would think "I'm gonna die (and there's nothing I can do about it)", and they would give up.

If the matter were not a life or death situation, I believe there would be less people up to the challenge because there was less at stake.

  7. Yes. I will attempt to answer your (doubt) question.

When we put our full effort, when we know our approach is good, when we know that we are having positive attitudes, when we know our intensions and motives are clear for achieving higher objectives and in spite of all our human endeavour, we are not able to achieve success, it becomes an insurmountable task. I agree.

When all individual human efforts fail, let us coopt like minded people. Collective effort sometime yields result. If that also does not work, then we can seek divine help and support. We will be definitely successful, if not today, at least after a while.

  8. Not necessarily.  It depends on what the stakes...what the perameters are.  Sometimes, though, it's out of our control.

  9. No but sometimes its tempting. This question tempted me but I would say my odds are almost insurmountable that I would win best answer since I think you're a proxy avatar for another to get points. However, I could be wrong in which case I am sorry for this remark. Pick me for best answer and we will know for sure if you're for real.

  10. It is highly egoistic not to give up even after realizing that the odds are heavily stacked against..... wisdom demands giving up instead of dogmatic pursuit which amounts to foolhardiness rather than courage!! An idealistic person may accept nothing as insurmountable, but would end up paying a very high price for such an overzealousness !! If the odds are indeed insurmountable, the idealist person would break down because of not giving up, which would be worse than willingly giving up and looking for alternatives!!!

  11. It all depends on the person and situation. Some people would never give up if it was something that they truly believed in. If it was something frivolous, why even bother?

  12. if they are truly insurmountable there would be no chance of success, eventually..give up or die of old age.

one possible alternative would be to do as Captain Kirk reportedly did in the Kobayashi Maru "no-win" training scenario ... change the game....  i.e.  he "cheated" by reprogramming the computer-based scenario
