I just got braces early yesterday morning, top bottom and I got a bite plate, and the pain is unbearable! I was just watching television and I saw a commercial for Orajel and a ot of people says it works almost instantly and keeps the pain away. Would it work for me because I need something other than Ibuprofen [it doesn't help me...] PLEASEEE ANSWER!!!

  1. I agree with the first answer. ask for like tylenol 3. or something.

Orajel is supposed to be used for toothaches, it might work for you.

just try it, if it doesn't work go ask for some meds.

  2. Take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen and then put orajel on your gums and teeth. I'm sure they will still hurt a little, but it'll take a lot of the pain away if you use both.

  3. I have tried it on them it sorta worked but i would recommend you go back to the orthodontist to ask for him for a prescription for tylenol with codeine. It made me feel a lot better
