electricity? This doesn't include bathrooms and I don't think toilet water should be recylced like some over the top environmentalists are doing.

Because most people could not afford a solar system that could completely provide all their power needs to live a comfortable life.

I have a few friends living on a beach in Mexico where there is no electrical power. I live about 20 miles from them in a town. I have been helping them with their Solar systems for years so I know quite a lot about it.

All the people living there have a stand alone system with 10-16 panels and a back up generator with a large bank of batteries. Batteries are about 12-24 of those like golf cart batteries. Most tell me they have 30-40 thousand dollars in their systems.

Even with this system, they cannot support heat or air conditioning. The also must be careful with their power usage if they do not want to run generators.

Do you think most people would live with no heat or air?

Sure. Jay Leno just outfitted his 7,000 sq. ft garage with solar panels and he actually puts energy back into the grid. There are some really cool solar products out there. Check out some of the links below for more about Jay Leno and solar products.

Solar power INSTEAD of electricity? Don't you mean use solar panels to generate electricity instead of coal fired steam engines like we do now? That might work but it would not be natural at all.

yes solar panels are a great idea. My friend has them on his house and the house is self sufficient for electricity
