Question:

Would p90x be good for me?

it is an exercize program. i took the fitness test to see if i was in good enough shape and passed it easily. im alrady in great shape just looking to to tone a little bit. would you reccomend this or something else.

  1. P90X is actually a pretty solid program.  Go for it.


  2. First of all, there is no exercise that can "tone" muscle. The way that your muscles look is predetermined by your genetics. The only thing that you can do is make them bigger, or lose weight so they show up better. The p90X exercise program won't "tone" you, maybe if you follow the p90x diet program it would help, but I haven't tried it myself. In my opinion, your best off just doing a normal diet, you don't need an expensive program to help you with that.

    I've tried a few of the P90x exercises, to me they just feel like an hour long circuit training for the same muscles, purely for building endurance in your muscles. You wouldn't gain much size, and lifting to gain definition and tone is impossible. I would only recommend the p90x program if you were training to do long rigorous work where the muscle endurance is needed.

    The only thing that I found to be useful from the p90x was the ab program. It was more difficult than I expected it to be, and it really works to hit many parts of your abs. The only thing that I didn't like about the p90x ab program is the lack of crunches, but you can just do those separately.

    The p90x program is useful to keep yourself in shape and have nice endurance, but for gaining muscle mass there are many other workouts that are much better.Remember, you can't shape, tone, or define your muscles with weightlifting, you can only loose weight to make them look "toned".
