Question:

Would paying $250 be worth it?

We live in Canada.

Right now I'm unemployed, praying for a second interview. My boyfriend works full time, he is landscaper. Winter is coming fast. Last winter we had a rough time getting through it. He wants a career in machines, like a heavy equipments operator. Right now we can't afford anything. Right now he wants to get his forklift license. It would cost us $250, and would help him get a job in the winter. The winter that passed he was unemployed for the most part, and then had a $8/hour job. So, do you think it's worth scraping $250 for him to get his forklift license? Right now we're so tight on money. (Hopefully I get that job soon!)

  1. Is there a guarantee he will get a job with that license? As in an employer said to him: I WILL hire you once you get that license.

If there isn't I think you should sit tight right now.

  2. See about the job market, you don't want him to use the money to buy a license for a job that is not needed. Call around to whoever employs the workers and see if they have openings, they might even be able to help him through the process.
