I'm thinking about joining the Air Force to be on there boxing team. Right now i'm an amateur boxer who have fought guys that went to the Olympic trails and beat him, so i know that i can make the team. I just want to know would boxing be my full time job, the whole time and not go over to places like Iraq?

  1. No.

Being on the military sports teams is only a part time gig.

If you were on the boxing team, you would do your normal job, then 9 weeks out of the year you would go off and compete in interservice competition.

So, I guess it would cut down your time overseas by a few weeks, but that is it. The rest of the time you would be like everyone else in the AF.
