I've just moved into this apartment and I haven't been too happy with it. I like my apartment, but I've been having numerous maintenance issues. The current issue at hand is flooding of my patio. Every time it rains, my patio gets flooded. It's not just a little wet.. When I stand in the corner, it is up to my ankles! I live in Florida, so it rains all the time! I'm worried that when a big storm comes, it will enter my apartment. I haven't said anything to management yet, but I will tomorrow! I took pictures to show them how much of a problem it is.

They are responsible for this, correct?

  1. Nope.  He only has to supply your apt and it must be livable.  You dont live on the patio. Even if it does come inside the home, he is only responsible for the structure of the building, not your stuff.

And I would suggest that you get renters insurance to cover any damages to your personal belongings also.  And not just because of rain, but because of hurricanes.
