  1. You may be confused because in French possessive adjectives it is the gender of the noun ( in this case "amour") that determines which form to use, not the gender of the subject. Since the noun "amour" is masculine so is the possessive adjectives.

  2. to a man ,a woman or a kid (from the parents )

  3. It could be either man or woman.  In French, when a noun begins with a vowel (amour), the possessive used with it is always masculine.  According to my French teacher, this is because it is too hard to pronounce two vowels together like ma amour.

  4. Either a man or a woman who is their "love".

  5. It's unisex because the translation of " mon amour' is "my love' so it can be used for both sexes
