  1. if you feed the rats diffrent food

  2. You may wanna check with the school, because some forbid animals or some forbid mammals.

remember you have to have a control and a variance.  (does a plant grow better under full light or shaded light?)

Please make sure you get ur project okay'd by a teacher before you invest time and money in it.

  3. I agree with the two people who said this is a bad project.

If you are interested in how things grow, it might be better to work with plants.  You could generate a lot of original questions.

This is poorly thought out, but ....

If you are interested in cute things, you could do research on cuteness.  Find a bunch of pictures of a variety of animals.  Generate a hypothesis about what people find cute (for example large eyes compared to the size of their heads.)  Show the pictures to a bunch of people and have them rate them as 1-10 on cuteness.

Then compare that to you hypothesized cuteness-factor.  (In my example eye size.)

The first link will give you help on thinking up ideas.  The second one will show you how to do the math.  (You may need an adults help for the math.)

  4. no it wouldn't be good for the science fair.

  5. what is the actual experiment here...keeping some in a 12 hour day/night cycle vs different light/dark cycles?  You need to think of this in a scientific method kind of way.

    1. what is the question you are asking, or what do you want to find out.

    2. based on what you know, what do you think the result will be?

    3. how can I test this in a controlled way to prove or disprove my hypothesis.

    4. are my conclusions valid (was the experiment unbiased)?

  6. I don't know that rats do anything special when growing, maybe if you do a frog you can document its changing from a tadpole
