Would returning to live in small towns and villages help the country to bring down oil and other prices??

  1. it would only help if we could also work where we live.  Otherwise, greater commutes and use of gasoline.  But prices are artificially manipulated by the producers and not strictly a function of demand.  

    Much also depends on whether we use energy-efficient construction of homes and workplaces: good insulation, passive solar systems, solar panels to generate electricity, etc.


  2. No because when you live in a small town you tend to drive places a LOT more.  Also, things do tend to cost less, but the shipping things all over is pretty hard.  So I don't agree.  I think creating more/better public transportation will really help save money.
